내재적 삼위일체와 경륜적 삼위일체에서 본 칼뱅의 삼위일체론

이 글은 칼뱅신학 안에서 내재적 삼위일체와 경륜적 삼위일체가 어떻게 나타나며, 이 둘 간의 관계는 무엇인지를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 내재적 삼위일체는 자신 안에 계신 하나님이며 경륜적 삼위일체는우리를 위한 하나님이다. 칼뱅은 삼위일체를 “한 본질 안에 세 인격”으로 정의한다. 성부와 성자와 성령은 인격에 있어서 구별되지만 본질에있어서 하나인 한 분 하나님이다. 칼뱅은 인격을 본질과 고유성으로 정의한다. 본질에 있어서는 시작이 없고 자존한다. 위격에 있어서는 아들은 성부에게서 나시고, 성령은 성부와 성자에게서 나오신다. 내재적삼위일체에서 성부의 고유성은 출생시킴, 성자의 고유성은 출생, 성령의 고유성은 발출이다. 경륜적 삼위일체에서 성부의 고유성은 창조, 구원, 성화를 포함하는 모든 활동의 시작이며 성자의 고유성은 모든 활동에 대한 지혜이며 성령의 고유성은 이에 대한 능력과 효력이다. 칼뱅은 성부와 성자의 연합이 내재와 경륜 모두에서 나타난다고 주장하면서 성령을 위격 간의 연합의 끈으로 본다. 경륜적 삼위일체와 내재적삼위일체의 관계는 존재론적으로는 내재가 경륜을 앞서지만, 인식론적으로는 경륜이 내재를 앞서서 계시한다. 경륜을 통해 계시된 내재의지식은 한계가 있으며 종말론적 성취를 기다린다. 경륜이 완성되는 곳에서 삼위의 관계는 내적인 관계로 복귀되면서 밖을 향한 관계를 유지한다. 영원한 로고스는 영광스러운 육체를 가지면서 스스로 머리가 된다. 구원 경륜에 나타난 성부에 대한 성자의 종속은 존재론적이지 않다. 중보자로서의 구속 사역 때문이다. 칼뱅의 삼위일체론은 구원론적이고 실천적이다. 선험적이기보다는 후험적이다. 하나님이 그리스도의 아버지라는 사실은 그가 우리들의 아버지가 된다는 사실에 있다. 삼위‐하나님에 대한 모든 헛된 사색을 몰아내고, 성경이 계시하는 삼위‐ 하나님에 대한 이해에 철저히 충실하면서도, 인식론적 한계를 인정한다. 그러므로 삼위‐하나님을 이해하지 못한다 하더라도 경배해야 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to find out how the immanent Trinity and the economic Trinity appeared in Calvin’s theology and what the relationship was between them. The immanent Trinity is God for God and the economic Trinity is God for us. Calvin defined the Trinity as three persons in one essence. Father, Son and Holy Spirit are distinguished in subsistence. Calvin defined person by the essence and the peculiar property. In essence there is no beginning. The Father has not been generated. The Son is eternally begotten. The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son. In the economic Trinity, to the Father is attributed the beginning of action, the fountain and source of all things: to the Son, wisdom, counsel, and arrange- ment in action, while the energy and efficacy of action is assigned to the Spirit. The relationship between the economic Trinity and the immanent Trinity reveals that immanence precedes ontologically the dispensation, but the other precedes epistemologically the one. The knowledge of the immanent trinity revealed through the economy(oikonomia) is limited and awaits eschatological achievement. The Father can be held to be greater than the Son only economically. This thus excluded any ontological subor- dination. Calvin’s doctrine of the holy Trinity is soteriological and practical. The fact that God is the Father of Christ is that he becomes our Father.
