Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate the validation of the Korean Version of the Physical Education Predisposition Scale (KPEPS) which was developed and validated by Hilland, Stratton, Vision, & Fairclough (2009). Additionally, the differences of physical education predisposition according to personal variables were investigated. There were 891 middle school student participants. For the analysis of data, item analysis, correlation analysis exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach's α, confirmatory factor analysis, t-test, and ANOVA were used with the SPSS and Amos programs. The conclusions were as follows: two factors were extracted with 9 items (perceived competence in physical education class and perceived value about physical education class). According to gender, grade, and physical education class type, there were differences of physical education predisposition. The Korean version of physical education predisposition scale would be expected to be use in Korea.
