병자호란이 우리 시대에 주는 교훈과 시사점

Abstract

This article focuses on the cause of the outbreak of Byengjahoran(the Qing invasion of Joseon in 1636) the sick man, and aims at deriving lessons and implications the invasion for our age. First, chapter 2, “The international situation always changes” explains the necessity of adjustment to the change of the outside world, pointing out the limit of not actively coping with changes in international situation. In chapter 3, "The authority puts priority on the people," I insist that when justification and interests are in harmony, the state is secured and the people can live peacefully, mentioning the case of Byengjahoran, In chapter 4, "There is a partner in trade", I explain that the healthy international relations can be formed when the trade proceeds from the mutual benefit perspective. And chapter 5, "Prepare for the War in Peace", emphasizes that strengthening the national defense is very important and that we need to prepare it in peaceful times. The reason for paying attention to Byengjahoran in this study is because I thought that it is highly suggestive for South Korea confronting North Korea to live with the four powers.
