The Phenomenological Study on Geographicality of Body and Its Geography Educational Implication

본 연구는 정신에 우선순위를 두는 근대적인 교육관을 넘어 몸에 기반한 지리교육을 탐구하였다. 먼저 몸 담론의 철학적 흐름을 현상학, 특히 메를로퐁티의 철학을 중심으로 검토하였다. 그의 철학을 바탕으로 공간, 몸, 장소가 상호 순환하면서 변증법적으로 통일되는 과정을 통해 몸의 지리성을 논증하였다. 마지막으로 몸의 지리성이 함의하고 있는 지리교육적 의미를 세 가지 측면에서 검토하였다. 첫째, 체현의 교육적 의미에 대한 재인식을 통해 기존의 교육관에 대한 재정향이 필요함을 역설하였다. 둘째, 여기와 저기에 대한 관심을 넘어 그곳에 있는 존재, 지리-존재론에 대한 관심이 필요함을 주장하였다. 셋째, 이원론적인 지리 지식을 넘기 위해 환경을 거주지로 이해하는 외쿠메네적 관점이 요구됨을 주장하였다.
Abstract
This study dealt with the geography education based on body beyond the modern view of education, giving a priority to mind. What I examined first is that the trace of body discourse from history of the western philosophy focusing on phenomenology, particularly Merleau-ponty? philosophy of body. And then, geographicality of body was demonstrated through the process that body, space, and place is dialectically unified as they cycle mutually. Finally, meanings of geography education was analyzed that geographicality of body implies from three aspects. First, It is argued to the traditional view of education needs to be reorientated through recognition for the educational meaning of embodiment. Second, it is required to pay attention to geography-ontology, the existence of there, beyond here and there. Third, it is required to have the view of 럄oum럑e that environment is considered as oikos to go beyond dualistic geographycal knowledge.
