본 논고는 “칼빈(John Calvin, 1509~1564)의 자연신학 가능성과 현실성”이라는 연구를 통해 현대 기독교 자연신학 가능성을 모색해보는 데에 그 목적이 있다. 오늘날 자연신학에 관한 올바른 인식과 논의가 그 어느 때 보다도 필요한 때이다. 20세기 이래로 우주과학과 다윈진화론은 기독교 창조신학 ‘실재론’에 대한 많은 도전과 의문을 던지고 있다. 이제는 기독교 신학이 인간의 타락과 구원에만 치중할 것이 아니라 창조세계에서도 활동하고 계시는 하나님에 관해 관심을 기울여야 할 때이다. 그러나 자연신학과 자연과학에만 치중할 경우 기독교 본질을 잃어버릴 수가 있기 때문에 우리는 기독교 전통신학, 특히 종교 개혁가 칼빈의 신학사상을 의존하지 않을 수 없다. 아직까지 개혁주의 신학에서는 칼빈의 신학이 가장 중심이 되는 것은 사실이다. 따라서 본 연구는 기독교 자연신학을 위해서 칼빈의 자연이해를 고찰하려 한다. 첫째, 자연신학의 기원과 계시의 관계를 머리로 다루었다. 둘째, 바르트(Karl Barth, 1886~1968)와 브룬너(Emil, Brunner, 1889∼1966)의 자연신학의 갈등과 논쟁을 통해서 칼빈의 자연신학에 관한 개연성을 논한다. 셋째, 칼빈의 자연신학의 가능성을 고찰하였다. 넷째, 칼빈의 자연이해를 통해 자연신학의 현실성을 다루려 한다. 그 방법에 있어서 칼빈의 과학관을 함께 살피려한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to explore the possibility of modern Christian natural theology through the study of "the possibility and reality of Calvin's natural theology". Today, right recognition and discussion about natural theology are more necessary than ever before. Since the twentieth century, space science and Darwin's theory of evolution have been challenging and questioning the 'realism' of Christian creation theology. It is now time for Christian theology to focus not only on depravity and salvation of human beings, but also on God who is active in the created world. However, we can not but depend on Christian traditional theology, especially the religious reformist Calvin, because if we focus only on natural theology and natural science, We can get out of the truth of the Christianity. It is true that Calvin's theology is at the center of Reformed theology. Therefore, this study attempts to examine Calvin 's natural understanding for Christian natural theology. First, I treated the relationship between the origin of natural theology and revelation. Second, we discuss the possibility of Calvin's natural theology through the conflicts and controversies between Barth and his natural theology. Third, we examined the possibility of Calvin 's natural theology. Fourth, we try to deal with the reality of Calvin's natural theology. I try to look at Calvin's science in the way.
