요한복음에 제시된 ‘앎’에 관한 탐구는 요한 기독론의 실체를 파악하는 데 유의미한 주제이며 복음서에 있어서 구원이란 예수에 관한 ‘인식’과 관련이 깊다. 이러한 전제로 이 연구는 형성기 기독교의 역사에서 적잖은 영향을 주었던 요한복음 내 기독론의 이해(γνω̑σις) 구도가 단편적 기독교 전승에 치중한 결과로 구축된 게 아니라는 것을 증명하는 동시에 1세기 기독교 형성과정에서 예수와 주변 세계의 상호작용으로 인한 다양한 상황적 해석에 근거한 신학적 산물임을 제안하려 한다. 요한복음은 네 개의 복음서 중 예수에 관한 ‘인식 문제’(앎, 지식)를 체계적으로 다루는 복음서이며 특별히 요한복음 내의 ‘γνω̑σις’ 연구는 요한이 추구하려던 기독론이 어떻게 발생했고 파생되었으며, 확립하게 되었는지를 유연하게 증명하고 있다. 이 연구는 그간의 요한복음 학자들의 기독론적 ‘γνω̑σις’의 한계를 벗어나서 예수와 제자들 혹은 역사적 예수 주변에 발생한 일련의 ‘문제’ 자체에 집중하여 새로운 각도로 해석해보고 이해함으로 요한복음 내부의 ‘γνω̑σις’의 해석학적 새 방향을 모색하고 도전하려는 참신한 시도이다. 특히 요한복음 14장을 견인하고 있는 ‘γνω̑σις’가 어떤 맥락에서 서술되어 있으며, 그 실체가 무엇인지를 고찰함으로써 예수에 관한 이해에 접근하려 한다. 이러한 전제에서 이 연구는 메타인지 해석학을 활용하여 요한복음의 ‘앎’의 개념을 정립, 유형화함으로써 요한복음 내의 신앙 집단이 직면한 다양한 역사적 상황을 파악, 이해하여 인식적 구원론 해석의 새 방향을 모색하는 한편 예수와 제자들 혹은 역사적 예수 주변에 발생한 일련의 ‘문제’ 자체에 집중하여 요한복음을 새로운 각도로 탐구, 해석한다.
Abstract
The exploration of ‘γνω̑σις’ presented in the Gospel of John is a significant topic for understanding the essence of Johannine Christology, and in the Gospel, salvation is closely related to ‘recognition’ of Jesus. According to these premises, it proves not only that the comprehension of Christological ‘γνω̑σις’ in John’s Gospel, which is considerable influence on the history of Christianity during its formation, was not constructed as a result of focusing on fragmentary Christian traditions but that it was the theological result based on the various situational interpretation in the process of forming Christianity in the first century with the interaction between Jesus and the surrounding world. The John’s Gospel of the four New Testament Gospels is the one that systematically deals with the ‘problem of perception’ about Jesus and the study of ‘γνω̑σις’ in the Gospel of John flexibly proves how the Christology that John has sought was arisen, derived and established. This study is a novel attempt to overcome the limitations of the Christological ‘γνω̑σις’ of previous scholars of the Gospel of John and to focus on a series of ‘issues’ that arose around Jesus and his disciples or the historical Jesus, interpreting and understanding them from a new angle, thereby seeking and challenging a new hermeneutical direction for ‘γνω̑σις’ within the Gospel of John. In particular, I would attempt to approach the understanding of Jesus by examining the knowledge ‘γνω̑σις’ driving John Chapter 14 described in a certain context and by considering what the reality means. Based on this premise, this study seeks the new directions of the interpretation of epistemic soteriology, not only with establishing and typifying the concept of John’s ‘γνω̑σις’ by means of Metacognitive Hemeneutics but identifying and understanding the various historical situations in the faith groups in the Gospel of John. Further, this is to explore and interpret the Gospel of John from a new standpoint by focusing on the successive ‘problems’ that occurred in Jesus and his disciples and even his surroundings.
