대학생 아랍어 학습자들의 탈 동기 요인 척도 개발에 관한 연구

초록

본 연구의 목표는 한국인 대학생 아랍어 학습자에게 적합한 탈 동기 요인 척도를 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저 63명의 대학생 아랍어 학습자를 대상으로 열린 결말 식 예비 설문을 수행하였다. 예비 설문 응답지의 내용을 분석하고 선행 연구를 참고하여 8개 요인의 59개 문항으로 구성된 1차 설문지를 마련하였다. 다음 단계로 1차 설문지를 사용하여 493명의 대학생 아랍어 학습자들을 대상으로 본 설문을 수행하였다. 수집된 설문 응답 내용에 대한 탐색적 요인분석, 확인적 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석 등을 통해 최종적으로 7개 요인- 학습의 어려움과 좌절 경험, 교사의 행동, 학습 교재와 자료, 학습의 도구성, 학습자의 흥미와 자신감 저하, 동급생과의 경쟁 혹은 비교, 목표 문화와 원어민에 대한 태도- 의 46개 문항으로 구성된 대학생 아랍어 학습자들의 탈 동기 요인 척도를 개발하였다. 본 연구를 통해 개발된 탈 동기 요인 척도는 한국인 대학생 아랍어 학습자들을 대상으로 만들어진 최초의 독자적인 척도라는 의미를 갖는다.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a demotivation factor scale suitable for Arabic learners across Korean universities. To this end, a preliminary survey was conducted on 63 Arabic learners in two Korean universities. A primary questionnaire was consisted of 59 questions over 8 factors, prepared by the analysis of the preliminary survey. As a next step, 493 Arabic learners in 7 Korean universities were picked up and surveyed with the questionnaire from the previous survey. Finally, by conducting exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and reliability analysis of the collected questionnaire responses, the current study developed 46 questions of the following seven factors: learning difficulties and frustration experiences, teachers' behaviors, textbooks and teaching materials, learning instrumentality, decreased interests and confidence of learners, competition or comparison with classmates, attitudes towards target culture and native speakers. It can be emphasized that the scale developed from this study is the first ever independent scale designed to measure demotivation of Arabic learners in Korean universities.
