이 논문은 사랑의 본질을 연구한다. 여기서 문제 삼는 사랑은 아가페가 아닌 에로스이다. 사랑은 ‘존재의 승인’이다. 사랑은 ‘통일의 힘’이다.(피퍼) 사랑은 주는 일이며 사랑 안에는 마음-씀, 책임, 존경, 인식이 들어 있다.(프롬) 사랑은 의지이며 모든 가치를 창조하는 원천이다. 사랑이 없으면 우리의 인생은 무의미하다. 우리가 우리 자신을 사랑하는 일은 자연스럽다.(프랑크푸르트) 사랑에 대한 이러한 본질규정을 뒤이어 본 논문은 여러 가지 문제점과 이해하기 어려운 점을 확인하고 해명한다. 사랑이 감정인가 의지인가? 사랑과 기쁨의 상관관계 문제, 즐김으로서의 사랑과 노력으로서의 사랑의 문제, 사랑과 인식의 문제, 자기-사랑의 문제가 다루어진다.
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to investigate the essences of love, not of agape, but of eros. Love is ‘the affirmation of being’ and ‘the power of unification’. Loving means giving, not receiving. The basic elements of love are care, responsibility, respect and knowledge. And love is the volitional configuration and the originating source of terminal value. Without loves our lives are meaningless. We love naturally ourselves. After these essential remarks on love the article investigates several important problems and difficulties in understanding of loving. Is love a feeling or a will? The relation between love and pleasure, the problem of love as enjoying and love as effort, the problem of love and knowledge, the problem of self-love are investigated in this article.
