초록

While the United States and the European Union have taken measures to update their laws in accordance with the advent of the digital economy and the dominance of specific online platforms, Canada has not yet taken steps to do so. Despite plans to reform different areas of the law relating to personal data, broadcasting, and hate speech moderation, none of them were adopted before the parliamentary elections in September 2021. The arrival of the new Trudeau government and the announcement of its priorities at the beginning of November 2021 should provide an indication of how Canada will position itself in the future on the regulation of online platforms.

The arrival of the new Trudeau government and the announcement of its priorities at the beginning of November 2021 should provide an indication of how Canada will position itself in the future on the regulation of online platforms.
