교육혁신의 대안으로서 커뮤니티 홈스쿨링에 관한 시론적 연구

초록

공사교육에 대한 불만 팽배로 인한 새로운 교육대안을 모색하는 과정에서 이 연구는 커뮤니티 홈스쿨링에 주목하게 되었다. 먼저 커뮤니티 홈스쿨링의 시론적 연구 차원에서 홈스쿨링과 커뮤니티 홈스쿨링의 배경 및 현황 그리고 사례를 분석하였다. 그리고 기존 연구의 경향과 필요성 등을 파악하여 커뮤니티 홈스쿨링의 도입과 관련된 경험적 탐색조사를 처치홈스쿨링 참여가정들을 대상으로 실시하였다. 조사분석을 위해서 커뮤니티 홈스쿨링의 도입과 관련하여 교육선택, 교육내용, 교육효과의 세 가지 측면에서 면담조사와 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과를 통해 첫째, 커뮤니티 홈스쿨링협회와 같은 조직이 더욱 활성화되어야 하며 장기적인 차원에서 제도적 지원이 이루어질 필요가 있다. 둘째, 커뮤니티 홈스쿨링이 각 커뮤니티의 특색과 정체성을 우선적으로 고려하여 만들어지고 시작될 경우 쉽게 연착륙할 수 있을 것이다. 셋째, 커뮤니티 홈스쿨링협회의 관련세미나와 교육 참여를 통한 교육의 질을 높이고 중앙정부와 지방자치단체차원에서 공적 재정지원책을 강구해 볼 필요가 있을 것이다.

Abstract

This study was started with the purpose of the theoretical exploration study on whether community home schooling can be institutionalized as an alternative to educational innovation. Empirical explorations related to the introduction of community homeschooling were conducted on families participating in church homeschooling corresponding to the actual case of community homeschooling. For analysis, interview surveys and questionnaire surveys were conducted on three aspects of the introduction of community home schooling, namely educational choice, educational content and educational effects. From the results of the study, organizations such as the Community Homeschooling Association should be more active and institutional support needs to be provided on a long-term basis. Second, if community homeschooling is created and started with priority on the characteristics and identity of each community, a soft landing would be easy. Third, it will be necessary to improve the quality of education through participation in seminars and education programmes of the Community Homeschooling Association. In addition, public financial support need to be considered at the level of the central and local governments.
