딩이텅(丁一滕) 연출의 〈두아(竇娥)〉․〈신서상(新西廂)〉에 나타난 고전의 재해석과 동시대성에 관한 연구

딩이텅은 90후 세대의 떠오르는 연극인으로, 중국 전통극과 서양 연극을 문화상호주의 관점에서 적극적으로 융합하여 오딘 극단의 스코어와 중국 전통극의 정식 기법을 결합한 ‘신정식’ 체제를 구축하면서 중국 현대 연극의 민족화를 꾀하고 있다. 그는 고전극 〈두아원〉․〈서상기〉를 각색하여 〈두아〉․〈신서상〉를 선보였다. 원작의 시간 배경을 탈역사화하고 동시대적 요소를 삽입해 극의 시간을 동시대로 끌어와 재맥락화했다. 또 원작에서 소외된 타자였던 인물들은 〈두아〉․〈신서상〉에서 욕망, 가족 해체, 하늘의 죽음을 통해 타자성을 극복하고 주체로 전환되었다. 또 두아․약홍을 서양의 실존적 존재인 뫼르소․안티고네와 몽타주적으로 교차시켜 타자의 말을 빌려 이 둘이 주체로 나아가는 과정을 극대화해서 보여준다.
Abstract
Ding-Yi-teng(丁一滕) is a rising theater artist of the post-90s generation who actively striving for the nationalization of contemporary Chinese theater by integrating Chinese traditional opera and Western theater from a perspective of cultural relativism. Building upon his experience with Odin Teatret, he is currently developing a new system called XinChengshi(新程式), which combines Odin’s Score Technique with the Chengshi conventions(程式) of traditional Chinese opera. He adapted the classical plays 〈The Injustice to Dou-E(竇娥寃)〉 and 〈Romance of the Western Chamber(西廂記)〉 into his works 〈Dou-E(竇娥)〉 and 〈Xin-Xixiang〉, respectively. In these adaptations, he de-historicized the original temporal settings, recontextualizing them within the contemporary era through the insertion of contemporary elements. Moreover, characters who remained marginalized others in the originals are reimagined in 〈Dou-E(竇娥)〉 and 〈Xin-Xixiang〉 as individuals who overcome their alienation and transform into subjects through desire, the dissolution of family, and the death of the heavens. Ding further intensifies this process of subjectivation by employing a montage technique that intersects Dou-E and Ruo-Hong(若紅) with the Western existential figures Meursault and Antigone, allowing them to borrow the voices of these others to articulate their own agency.
