국내 및 외국계 국제물류주선업체의 생산성 변화 실증 분석

본 연구는 Sequential Malmquist 지수를 사용하여 국내 및 외국계 국제물류주선업체의 효율성 및 생산성 변화를 비교 분석하는데 연구목적이 있다. 국내 및 외국계 국제물류주선업체 22개의 재무제표 자료를 바탕으로 Sequential Malmquist 지수를 사용하여 효율성 및 생산성 변화를 실증 분석하였다. 실증분석결과에서 2011년부터 2016년까지 6년간 전체 국제물류주선업체의 효율성은 연평균 6.0% 하락한 것으로 나타났고, 기술은 연평균 6.0% 진보한 것으로 나타났다. 전체 국제물류주선업체의 Sequential Malmquist 지수는 1.00으로 연평균 생산성 변화가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 세부적으로 대기업 계열 국제물류주선업체의 생산성은 연평균 7.02% 상승한 것으로 나타났고, 외국계 국제물류주선업체의 생산성은 연평균 4.95% 하락한 것으로 나타났으며, 3PL 국제물류주선업체의 생산성은 연평균 0.73% 하락한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과는 국제물류시장에서 경쟁하고 있는 국내 및 외국계 국제물류주선업체에게 실무적 시사점을 제공하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the changes in efficiency and productivity in the Korean freight forwarding industry for the period 2011-2016. Considering this purpose, the authors employed the sequential Malmquist index, and selected 22 domestic and foreign freight forwarders operating in Korea as a representative sample. The results of the empirical analysis show an annual decline in efficiency of 6.0%, together with technological advancement of 6.0%. On the other hand, the annual mean productivity change was 0.0%. Freight forwarders affiliated to large conglomerates showed an annual increase in productivity of 7.02%. However, the annual productivity of third-party logistics and foreign freight forwarders decreased by 0.73% and 4.95%, respectively. In this study, technological change contributed to the productivity change more than the efficiency change. These results provide practical implications for domestic and foreign freight forwarders.
