Abstract

Prior research has demonstrated that balanced ESG strategies can positively impact corporate performance through empirical analysis of KOSPI-listed companies in South Korea. However, these analyses showed statistical significance only in financial causal relationships, revealing the limitation that balanced ESG strategies function only partially in this context. To address this limitation, the present study expanded the scope of analysis to include the world's top 500 global corporations, reassessing balanced ESG strategies. The analysis revealed that balanced ESG strategies positively influence both financial performance and corporate value as interaction terms. Consequently, this study reaffirms the importance of balanced strategies in corporate ESG management and empirically validates the necessity of balanced ESG strategies as a means to enhance both ESG practices and corporate performance.
