중학생의 봉사활동 참여와 시민의식 간 관계에서 자기효능감의 종단적 매개효과 검증

초록

본 연구는 중학생의 자기효능감과 시민의식의 변화궤적을 살펴보고, 봉사활동 참여와 시민의식 간 자기효능감의 종단적 매개효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위하여 경기교육종단연구(Gyeonggi Education Panel Study, GEPS) 4차년도(2015)에서 6차년도(2017)까지 3년 동안의 자료를 이용하였으며, 잠재성장모형(latent growth model, LGM)을 활용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 자기효능감과 시민의식은 시간이 경과함에 따라 점차 선형으로 감소하는 형태를 보였다. 둘째, 봉사활동 참여와 자기효능감, 시민의식 간 종단적 경로에서 봉사활동 참여는 자기효능감과 시민의식의 초기치, 즉 중1에서 정적 영향을 미쳤으며, 자기효능감과 시민의식의 관계는 초기치에서 초기치, 변화율에서 변화율과 같이 동일한 잠재요인에서 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 하지만 초기치에서 변화율에 미치는 상이한 잠재요인의 경로는 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 봉사활동 참여와 시민의식 간 관계에서 자기효능감의 종단적 매개효과를 검증하였다. 자기효능감의 초기치는 봉사활동 참여가 시민의식의 초기치로 이어지는 경로를 매개하였으며 동일시기, 즉 중학교 1학년의 봉사활동 참여는 자기효능감을 매개로 시민의식에 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 더불어 자기효능감의 초기치는 봉사활동 참여가 시민의식의 변화율로 이어지는 경로를 매개하였으며, 중학교 1학년의 봉사활동 참여가 자기효능감을 매개로 시민의식의 변화를 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 논의 및 제언을 제시하였다.

Abstract

This study examined the change trajectory of self-efficacy and citizenship of middle students and verified the longitudinal mediating effects of self–efficacy relationship on between volunteer activity participation and citizenship. It was used for analysis method of latent growth model using data the Gyeonggi Education Panel Study (GEPS) of three years from 4th to 6th year. First, self-efficacy and citizenship gradually decreased linearly with time. Second, volunteer activity participation, self-efficacy, and citizenship had a statistically significant effect on the self-efficacy and initial values of citizenship. Also, the relationship between self - efficacy and citizenship statistically affected the initial value and rate of change the same latent factor. However, the path of different latent factors of the initial values to the rate of change was negatively affected. The initial value of self-efficacy was found to mediate the path of voluntary participation to the initial value of citizenship. At the same time, volunteer activity participation positively influenced citizenship through self-efficacy. In addition, the initial value of self-efficacy was found to mediate the path leading to the rate of change of citizenship, and it was volunteer activity participation in the middle school grade 1 decreased the change of citizenship through self-efficacy. Based on the results, discussion and suggestions were presented.
