Korean ballet achieved continuous development in the middle of huge confusion during the Korean War in the 1950s. After the war ended, the two ballet flows, which were home-grown ballet and ballet of overseas influence complemented each other and developed together throughout the 1950s. The domestic group mainly included Song Beom and Lee Inbeom, whereas the overseas group did Yim Seongnam. While most of the domestic group members moved to another dance genre, the ballet dancers that studied ballet overseas had established a foundation for Korean ballet and engaged in active activities at the center of it since then.
Abstract
