김영태는 시인이자 예술 전반에 걸쳐 활동한 전방위 예술가로, 시를 중심으로 음악, 미술, 무용에 이르기까지 폭넓은 창작 세계를 펼쳤다. 본 연구는 김영태의 시에 나타난 음악적 요소와 그 의미를 중심으로 분석하고자 했다. 특히 김영태가 언급한 작곡가 중에서도 에릭 사티에 대한 깊은 애정과 언급이두드러지는 까닭에, 에릭 사티가 그의 시에 미친 영향을 집중적으로 살폈다. 에릭 사티는 전통적인 음악 형식을 탈피하여 새로운 음악적 언어를 창조한작곡가로, 김영태는 이러한 사티의 음악에서 창작의 자극을 받았다. 사티의 음악이 지닌 탈형식성과 미니멀리즘적 요소는 김영태의 시적 표현과 정서, 시세계의 구성 방식에 큰 영향을 주었으며, 그의 시에 나타나는 음악적 특성이시적 언어로 변환되어 나타난 것이다. 김영태는 음악을 단순한 주제로 삼는 것을 넘어, 음악의 형식과 구조와 감정을 시로 번역하려 했으며, 이를 통해 독자에게 자신의 예술관을 전달하고자했다. 특히 시에서 반복, 여운과 같은 음악적 기법을 적극 활용하며 음악과 시의 경계를 허물며 만들고자 한 그의 시적 여정은 그가 음악을 내면화한 예술언어로 수용했음을 보여준다. 본 연구는 김영태의 시에서 음악이 단순한 감상 대상이 아니라, 시 창작의동기이자 내적 구조로 작용함을 밝혀, 시와 음악의 융합이라는 측면에서 그의문학 세계를 이해하는 중요한 실마리를 제공한다. 또한 김영태 문학의 다층적성격을 드러내는 작업으로, 향후 좀 더 종합적인 예술 연구로의 확장을 가능하게 한다는 점에서 중요한 의의를 지닌다고 하겠다
Abstract
Kim Young-tae was a poet and an all-round artist who was active in all areas of art, and he expanded his creative world from poetry to music, art, and dance. This study aimed to analyze the musical elements and their meanings in Kim Young-tae’s poetry. In particular, among the composers mentioned by Kim Young-tae, his deep affection for and reference to Erik Satie stands out, and we focused on the influence he had on his poetry. Erik Satie was a composer who broke away from traditional musical forms and created a new musical language, and Kim Young-tae was inspired to create by Satie’s music. The elements of Satie’s music, such as its non-formality, everydayness, and minimalism, had a great influence on Kim Young-tae’s poetic expression, emotion, and the way he composed his poetic world. In his poetry, we could see that musical characteristics such as rhythm, tone, and static atmosphere were often transformed into poetic language. Kim Young-tae went beyond simply using music as a subject matter, and tried to translate the form, structure, and emotion of music into poetry, and through this, he tried to convey his artistic view to his readers. In particular, his poetic journey, which actively utilized musical techniques such as repetition, lingering, and static atmosphere in his poetry and attempted to break down the boundaries between music and poetry, shows that he accepted music as an internalized artistic language. This study revealed that music in Kim Young-tae's poetry is not a simple object of appreciation, but rather a motive for the creation of poetry and acts as an internal structure, and provides an important starting point for understanding his literary world in terms of the fusion of arts. In addition, it is a work that reveals the multi-layered nature of Kim Young-tae's literature, and it is significant in that it enables expansion into more comprehensive art studies in the future.
