본고는 ‘인천 지역 히든챔피언(Hidden Champions)’의 경영성과에 대한 추세 파악의 필요성을 제기하고, 다양한 영역의 경영성과들을 분석하여 이들의 추세 파악에 집중했다. 특히, 인천 지역 히든챔피언이 인천 경제의 잠재적 성장동력으로서 그 역할을 안정적으로 수행하기 위해서는 그들의 경영성과가 축소되거나 정체되지 않고 성장추세가 장기간 지속되어야 한다는 점에 주목했다. 구체적으로, 본고에서는 인천 지역 히든챔피언 9개 사의 경영성과를 5가지 영역으로 구분하고, 경영성과의 변화를 파악할 수 있는 측정지표를 적용 및 응용하여 각 영역의 추세를 검토했다. 분석 결과, 인천 지역 히든챔피언의 경우, 비교 기간 성장성 수준과 혁신성 수준은 점차 증가하는 경향이 나타났고, 안정성 수준은 소폭 증가 또는 유지되는 경향이 확인됐지만, 수익성 수준과 활동성 수준은 전반적으로 감소하는 추세로 나타났다.
Abstract
This study highlights the significance of research on the long-term persistence of ‘Incheon Hidden Champions’ and attempts to review their persistence by examining their business performance. It is particularly noteworthy that in order for Incheon Hidden Champions to function effectively as potential growth drivers for the Incheon economy, the business performance they have achieved must be sustained over a long period without any decline or stagnation. This study focuses on the persistence of nine Incheon Hidden Champions by categorizing their business performance into five distinct areas and utilizing performance evaluation metrics. The following findings were discovered from Incheon Hidden Champions. Over time, there was a consistent increase in the levels of growth and innovation. The levels of stability remained relatively consistent or experienced a minor increase. A general downward trend was observed in the level of profitability and activity.
