본 연구는 지식기반경제 (Knowledge-based Economy) 체제에서 어떻게 하면 기업들이 지속가능경쟁우위 (Sustainable Competitive Advantage)를 창출할 수 있는지 인천시 산업과 기업의 사례연구를 통해 살펴보았다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 현재 인천시의 산업과 기업은 전반적으로 영세하여 구조적으로 경쟁력 창출에 취약점이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 특히, 인천시의 지식관련 산업은 그 중요성이 날로 증가되고 있음에도 불구하고 향후 전망이 그다지 밝지가 않았으며, 더불어 다른 광역시와의 비교에서도 인천시가 다소 하위수준에 머물고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이에, 본 연구는 지식기반경제에서 인천시 산업과 기업이 경쟁우위를 창출 및 유지하기 위해 아래의 5가지 구체적 전략: ➀토종기업들의 탈 인천 가속화 억제 정책 수립, ➁문턱 넘기 역량 (Threshold Energy)의 확보, ➂숨은 자산 (Hidden Assets)을 활용한 전략 재수립, ④패러독스 경영 (Paradox Management)의 실천 그리고 ⑤신 성장 동력 (New Growth Engine)발굴 등을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This research examines how firms can create sustainable competitive advantage in the knowledge-based economy through a comprehensive analysis of the industry and firms of Incheon city. According to the result, there has been a structural vulnerability for Incheon city to produce competitiveness since most industries and firms have engaged in a small-scale business. In particular, despite the importance of the knowledge-based economy, the future of knowledge-related industries in Incheon city does not look brighter. This paper, as a result, proposes the following 5 specific strategies so that both Incheon city and firms to create, develop and sustain competitive advantage : ➀Establishment of policy to restrain native firms' breakaway from Incheon city, ➁Necessity of securing threshold energy, ➂Redefining of strategy by using hidden assets, ④Pursuit of paradox management, and ⑤Discovering new growth engines.
