이논문은춤에있어서의리얼리즘을연구해나가기위한초석으로, 리얼리즘이탄생된19세기리얼리즘의역사적배경 과당시의리얼리즘개념을연구했다. 그리고이를통해춤에있어‘리얼리즘발레’를표방한최초의안무가알렉산더고르 스키의 예술세계를 살펴보았다. 그결과, 19세기리얼리즘의역사적배경의특징은크게세가지로구분되는데, 첫째, 영국의‘산업혁명’이라는사회․경 제적변화에힘입어산업화와도시화로인해중산층이라는새로운계층이형성되었다. 둘째로리얼리즘은자연과학의발 전으로‘과학주의’, ‘실용주의’, ‘유물론’이라는철학적인토대와더불어마지막으로, 당시에풍미하던낭만주의에반기를들 고 현실적인 삶의 모습을 있는 그대로 표현하려고 노력에 기인한 것이다. 이렇게 리얼리즘은 19세기 당시의 시대정신을 표현하는‘새로운예술사조(思潮)’로탄생하게되었음을알수있었다. 이새로운예술사조인리얼리즘은‘동시대의이야 기’를 ‘있는 그대로’ ‘진실하고 객관적이며 편견 없이 표현하는 것을 목적’이었다. 리얼리즘이춤과의만남은러시아의모스크바볼쇼이극장발레단의안무가인고르스키에의해최초로이루어졌다. 그 는 리얼리즘 발레를 통해 ‘발레를 당대의 예술’로 만들고자 했다. 판토마임과 조형적 가치를 지닌 연극적 영역에 가까운 ‘묵극(黙劇,mimed drama)’ 또는‘춤으로된무언극(mimodrama)’이라는새로운장르를만들었고, 스타니슬라브스키의원 리에따라꼬르드발레(군무)를위한안무법도새롭게만들어냈다. 그는리얼리즘이라는새로운예술창작방법을발레에 적용한 발레사(史)뿐 아니라 무용사에 지워지지 않는 분명한 족적을 남겼다.
Abstract
This research is studied the historical background and the concept of 19 century as the basic investigation for the realism study in a dance. It searched into the artistic idea of Alexandre Gorsky, the first choreographer. There was the new social class what is called the middle class by the industrial revolution in the United Kingdom and it was historial background of Realism. The characteristic of Realism in 19 century is scientism, practicalism, materialism and real expression. Realism has appeared the new trend that was expressed the spirit of the 19 century. The objective expression of the new trend without prejudice was the object purpose. Realism and a dance were combined by Alexandre Gorsky, the choreographer of the Bolshoi Ballet. He wanted to make ballet as the typical art at that time. He made the new genre, mimed drama or mimodrama as like a play and the corps de ballet through the principle of Stanislavskii. The historical achievement of his new creative method with Realism is not only ballet but also dance history
