중국의 국방백서와 국방정책의 변화에 관한 고찰

This paper analyze the 8 Chinese Defense White Papers on a regular two-year frequency after 1998. As a matter of fact, Chinese Defense White Papers show some characteristics of propaganda and low transparency, so we can’t get a lot of useful information on Chinese real strategic intentions and military capabilities. Nevertheless, they are only official documents in national defense sector. Especially, they also have official statements about national defense policy and military strategy of Chinese government. In these respects, we should pay more attention to importance of Chinese Defense White Papers than they have received so far. Based on this importance of Chinese Defense White Papers, this paper argue that the assertiveness of China’s national defense policy and military strategy was enhanced from 2004 Chinese Defense White Papers.
Abstract
