초록
As Global Production Network(GPN) have been spread, the global trade structure has become more segmented and complicated. According to the spread of GPN, the trade of intermediate goods have been more expanding among countries. Particularly, in the regional trade structure of Korea, Japan and China, Korea and Japan have been importing intermediate goods to China, and then China have been exporting finished goods to US and EU markets etc through assembling process. However, in recent years, there have been changes in the trade structure of intermediate goods among these three countries. The purpose of this paper is to make analysis on the changes of bilateral trade structure of intermediate goods showed between Korea and China, and between Japan and China. The main findings can be summed up as follows: Firstly, in the trade of Korea and Japan toward China, there have been common changes, which is that the exports rate of intermediate goods toward China have been reduced, while the imports rates from China have been dramatically increased. Secondly, in the analysis of trade competitiveness through TSI, there are many differences between Korea and Japan. the TSI of Semi-finished goods Korea exports to China have been dramatically reduced, while that of Japan’s have been maintained without any huge changes. In other words, Korea’s decrease in the competitiveness of semi-finished goods are more serious than Japan. Meanwhile, the TSI of the parts and components of Korea and Japan also have been decreased commonly. Finally, The trade structure of capital goods between Korea toward China and Japan toward China have been shown in the different way of trends. Korea’s exports of capital goods to China have been increasing, while that of Japan decreasing. This study also found out that the main factors caused these changes are the China’s industrial upgrading and the structure of buying and purchasing strategies of multi-national enterprises invested toward China.
