日本語目的構文について

Abstract

I proposed to classify the Japanese purposive sentences with the adverbial and verbal nominal ones, and observed the properties of each others and the structure of the verbal nominal purposive sentences showing a syntactic and semantic similarity with the adverbial purposive sentences. The results of this paper are as followings. [ni]-component in the purposive sentences can accomplish the predicative role of the subordinate clause, but cannot accomplish the focal component in the divided sentences. [ni]-component in the verbal nominal purposive sentences is able to be appeared as the purposive object. The purposive object function the verbal nominal predicate. The verbal nominal purposive sentences can be generated by a process of elimination of formal verb [suru] from the adverbial purposive sentences. I regard [ni]-component in the purposive sentences as the compound predicate consisted with movement verbs.
