『東都歲事記』에 관한 고찰 –「冬之部」의 세시풍속에 있어 삽화와 하이카이의 효용을 중심으로–

Abstract

I have reviewed the structure and content about ‘Totosaijiki’s winter part‘ and examined about quoted drawing related with the customs and culture. The results are summarized as follows. In case of October, The tea party was introduced as theme of ‘Robiraki’ In early October, We can feel the rain soaking Edo. In late October, We can not guess the scale with explanation of ‘Kanjinzumo’. In case of November, There is stage greeting done by Gabuki actor. We can feel scale of audience that was difficult with explanation only through drawing. In case of December, Event conducted form ‘Shogatugotohajime’ on 8th to ‘Tosikosi’ on 31th was described in great detail. At the same time, We can find the customs and culture done by Epoch of Edo only studying the customs and culture of Oct, Nov, Dec. Furthermore, There was the customs and culture disappeared. Author Gessin had intention to show how the customs and culture was changed not only epoch of Edo but also big cities including Edo. The author very tried to explain the difference between Edo and the other area using drawing.
