태국어의 동사 /싸이/의 다의성에 관한 연구

Abstract

Thai verb ‘ใส ’/saj/’ in this article has quite many meanings and forms in Thai language use. In respect of meaning, ‘ใส ’/saj/’contains its meanings such as ‘to wear (such as clothing)’, ‘to put or wear (such as ring)’, ‘to wear (such as hat)’, ‘to put (such as shoes)’, ‘to put’, ‘to fill’, and ‘to insert’ etc. Therefore,this article looks at a general episememe of these several meanings, and investigates meanings of ‘ใส ’/saj/’ used in sentences as well as a syntactic prototype of ‘ใส ’/saj/’. The results are as follows:Firstly, a main meaning or a general episememe of ‘ใส ’/saj/’ is defined ‘to insert’. Because a verb ‘ใส ’/saj/’ which has meanings such as ‘to wear (such as clothing)’, ‘to put or wear (such as ring)’, ‘to wear (such as hat)’, ‘to put (such as shoes)’, ‘to put’,‘to fill’, and ‘to insert’ is a transitive verb and a general episememe of ‘ใส ’/saj/’ is related with ‘space’ of its ‘target’ or ‘place’. Secondly, a syntactic prototype of a verb ‘ใส ’/saj/’ is schematized as follows;[NP1 i/ka NP2 e NP3 eul/reul insert]i.e., in the form of Thai sentence as follows;[NP ‘ใส ’/saj/’ NP (preposition) NP]
