Abstract

This study looked into the currency of two dynasties in the traditional era. Vietnam has a long history. In ancient history, it was annexed by China for a long time, and after independence, it was greatly influenced by China in terms of culture and civilization under foreign relations with China through tributary system. Money is just one of them. In the case of it, Kaiyuan Tongbao issued in 621 in the 4th year of the Gojo of the Tang Dynasty in China became the standard for Vietnamese currency in the traditional era. Since Vietnam used individual Jeho(emperor name) and Yeonho(era name) like China in the traditional era, there are many cases where it is difficult to distinguish the nationality of the discovered coins because Myeongching and Myeong-ga ​​of the coins are similar. In the case of bills, Vietnam was also influenced by China. Therefore, the issued date, unit, type, and currency of bills were also similar to China. Although the Vietnamese bill failed due to timing and political variables, it provided a major turning point in the history of the Vietnamese currency.
