본 연구의 목적은 신체부위 중 하나인 BOCA로 구성된 스페인어 관용표현을 인지언어학적 관점에서 고찰하는 것이다. 이 관용표현에 대한 분석은 언어와 사고, 현실 간의 밀접한 관계를 주장한 인지언어학 이론의 타당성을 잘 나타낸다, 인지적 특성의 환유 과정에 기반을 둔 BOCA의 의미 확장 양상이 인간이 주변 세계를 이해하기 위해 신체부위명을 사용한다는 사실을 드러내기 때문이다. 본 연구는 이 환유 구조를 분석하여 그 인지모델과 인지적 관계를 살펴보고 신체화된 경험이 특정 어휘의 의미 확장의 도구로 선택되는 양상에 대해 숙고하도록 한다.
Abstract
The objective of the study is to investigate Spanish phraseological units(PhUs) formulated with BOCA, which is a Spanish name of a body part, from the perspective of Cognitive Linguistics. The analysis of these PhUs clearly demonstrates the validity of the theory of Cognitive Linguistics that emphasizes the close relationship between language, mind and reality. Because the semantic expansion of BOCA based on metonymic processes of a conceptual nature reflects the fact that human beings use the names of the body parts in order to understand the world around them. This study examines these cognitive models and relationships by analyzing the metonymical structure and also considers the aspects of how the embodied experiences are selected as a tool of semantic expansion.
