초록
In West Africa there is a special relationship between Marabout and Talibé. This study examined the meaning and relationship of the terms Marabout and Talibé. Arabic and Islamic terms are used not only in the Arabian Peninsula but also in non-Arabic Muslims. With the spread of Islam, the use of Arabic became widespread, resulting in a ‘semantic change’. This study examined the difference between the meaning of ‘Marabout’ and ‘Talibé’ in the Arabian Peninsula and the meaning of West Africa, and describes the relationship between the two. Originally, Marabout and Talibé each had a dictionary meaning of being a person guarding a fortified monastery and a student. Then, as it spread to Islam in West Africa, meaning of talibé became a ‘Semantic change’ as a boy begging on the street while learning Islamic teaching from religious leaders and Marabout. Marabout and Talibé are many problems in West Africa. In West Africa, parents send boys to Daara, an Islamic boarding school, to learn Islamic teaching. Although Daara, which educates Islamic teaching in a constructive and nurturing environment, is abusing Talibé boys and exploiting labor, causing social problems. It is prevalent for the superficial reason of religious practice to cause these social problems.
