요동반도 쌍타자2기문화의 특징과 전개

쌍타자2기문화는 한반도 청동기문화의 직접적인 관련성이 떨어지기에 관심을 그다지 받지는 못했었다. 그래서 막연하게 요동반도 청동기시대의 흐름 속에서만 그 존재를 인지해 왔다. 그러나 쌍타자2기문화는 크게 두 개의 서로 다른 문화유형으로 구분되며, 하나는 악석문화 요소가 강한 쌍타자중층유형이고, 다른 하나는 재지적 요소가 강한 상마석옹관장유형이다. 쌍타자중층유형은 산동 악석문화의 강한 확산에 의해 형성되었지만 쌍타자3기문화 단계가 되면 산동지역의 문화변동으로 인해 더 이상 존속되지 못하는 것으로 보인다. 반면, 쌍타자중층유형에 비해 상대적 열세를 보이던 상마석옹관장유형이 오히려 쌍타자3기문화 단계까지 존속되는 것으로 추정된다. 쌍타자3기문화에서 악석문화 요소가 보이는 것은 상마석옹관장유형 자체가 재지의 전통에 악석문화의 일부 요소가 결합된 상태이기에 그것이 발현된 결과로 생각된다. 상마석옹관장유형이 주로 분포한 벽류하 유역은 그 이후 이중구연관 중심의 문화권이 정착하고 상마석상층문화로도 이어지는 것으로 추정된다. 사실 상마석옹관장유형은 문화 특징과 성격이 아직 명확하게 규정되지 않았다. 관련 유물과 유구의 수량이 매우 한정적인 것이 제일 큰 이유일 것이다. 이런 상황이지만, 그동안 막연히 쌍타자2기문화로 포괄했던 요동반도 남부의 청동기시대 문화를 최소 두 개의 문화유형으로 구분해서 서술하는 것은 당시의 문화상과 후속하는 쌍타자3기문화와의 연결을 좀 더 명확하게 서술하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
The second period of Shuangtuozi culture has not received much attention because it is not directly related to the Bronze Age culture of the Korean Peninsula. However, the second period of Shuangtuozi culture is divided into two distinct cultural assemblages, one is the Shuangtuozi Middle Layer assemblage, which has a strong element of Yueshi culture, and the other is the Sangmashi Earthenware Coffin assemblage, which has a strong local element. The Shuangtuozi Middle Layer assemblage was formed by the strong spread of the Shandong Yueshi culture, but it seems to have ceased to exist by the third period of Shuangtuozi culture due to cultural fluctuations in Shandong. On the other hand, the Shangmashi Earthenware Coffin assemblage, which was relatively inferior to the Shuangtuozi Middle Layer assemblage, is believed to have survived until the third period of Shuangtuozi culture. The appearance of elements of Yueshi culture in the third period of Shuangtuozi culture is thought to be the result of the Shangmashi Earthenware Coffin assemblage itself being a combination of local traditions with some elements of Yueshi culture. It is believed that the basin under the Biliuhe River, where the Shangmashi Earthenware Coffin assemblage was mainly distributed, was later settled by a culture centered on double-rimed pottery, leading to the Shangmashi Earthenware Coffin assemblage. In fact, the cultural characteristics and nature of the Shangmashi Earthenware Coffin assemblage have not yet been clearly defined. The main reason is that the number of related artifacts and relics is very limited. In spite of this situation, it is expected that the description of the Bronze Age culture at the southern region of the Liaodong Peninsula, which has been vaguely encompassed by the second period of Shuangtuozi culture, as at least two distinct cultural types, will help to more clearly describe the cultural picture of the time and its connection with the third of Shuangtuozi culture.
