Abstract
“Han” is a representing concept when it comes to explaining Korean traditional spirits. The concept of “Han” has been developed by scholars and researchers. It is commonly done recognizing Korea’s lost ancient history anew based on ‘Korea’s uniqueness’ while studying thought of Han. The recognition of Hwanung, Hwanin should be restored before Dangun. Thought of Han has originated in Shinsi that Hwanung had built for the purpose of actualizing ‘Hong-Ik-In-Gan Jae-Sae-Yi-Hwa(弘益人間 在世理化)’. Hwanung had a virtue as same as the god. He discussed everything with his group while governing a country. Every single member genuinely repected and cared about each other. Regardless of sex and age, people enjoyed their benefits. This atmosphere was the same between countries. Seeing through Shinsi, ‘Han’ is ‘Harmony’, in short. Hwanung always kept his sound mentality by keeping his mind and body clean. Thus he could govern his country in a way of harmonization, which made ‘Hong-Ik-In-Gan(弘益人間)’. Members should also have harmonized mind in order to maintain harmony in Shinsi. Hwanung encouraged people to practice catch one’s breaths and improve ‘Jung(精’ so that they can control their mind and body. Additionally, he spread 『ChunBuGyong(天符經)』, 『SamIlSinGo(三一神誥)』, which are scriptures of Korean Sundo, to people and enlightened. Sundo practice has given people a motivational energy to keep ‘harmony’ of “Han” in Shinsi of Hwanung. “Han” in Shinsi is position on the background of the Sundo practice. In essence, it is stressed to instructive value rather than religionism.
