Abstract

Our study aims to examine (1) how the Nuclear corruption scandal occurred 2012 influencethe decrease in the trust and acceptance of nuclear power, (2) whether there are gaps amongpeople about the preference for strategies recovering the trust. First, our findings show that trust, information in media have positive effect on trust whereasthe perceived risk, affective stigma have negative effect on it. Moreover, the positive evaluationfrom trust and perceived benefit, and information in media increases the acceptance of nuclearwhereas the negative mood from perceived risk and affective stigma decreases it. Second, we find that there are variations in preference for strategies of recovering the trust. The opened-interactive communication is most favored strategies among respondent whereasalternatives related with the system and organization are the least ones, Such preference forsuch strategies varies with trust and acceptance level which people have in their mind. Our study suggest that more diverse strategies need to response different preference thatpeople have.
