청소년 자기주도학습의 특성에 관한 사례 연구

본 연구는 성인학습의 특성으로 지적되어 온 자기주도학습을 청소년의 학습에 적용해 보고 그 특성을 탐구하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한 청소년센터를 사례로 그 센터에서 이루어지는 청소년들의 학습을 참여관찰하여 그 특성을 분석하였다. 이 센터의 학습은 ‘프로젝트’로 진행되어 자기주도학습의 성격을 띤다. 연구 결과, 청소년의 자기주도학습은 주체성, 성찰성, 체험성이란 특성을 가진다. 주체성은 학습 과정에서 구체적으로 자율성과 주도성으로 드러난다. 성찰성은 ‘나’를 ‘대상화’하는 과정과 반성과 전망 모색의 과정을 거쳐 형성된다. 그리고 체험성은 학습 내용이 학습자에게 체화되어 총체적 변화가 일어나고, 그 변화를 자기 주변에 적용해 보려는 특성을 말한다. 이 세 특성은 서로 ‘호혜적 강화’의 관계를 맺어 학습 효과를 극대화한다.
Abstract
This study aims to understand the features of youths' self-directed learning. It is said that the self-directed learning is a feature of adult learning, but I try here to apply it to youth learning. So, I observed and analyzed youths' learning activities in the 'Hangaram Youth Center' in Seoul.I found that several activity programs called 'project' revealed distinct features of youth self-directed learning. I found three features in youth self-directed learning. Youths in the center have autonomy and self-directiveness in their learning process. This feature might be called 'subjectivity'. Youths reflect themselves by objectifying 'I', reconsidering their actions, forecasting their future. This feature can be called 'reflexivity'. Youths have transformative experience which expand to the domain of neighbor youth groups. This feature might be called 'experientiality'. These three features of youth self-directed learning have convivial relations each other.
