비형식교육 장면에서의 학습자 자기평가에 대한 질적 사례 연구

‘학습자 자기평가’는 최근 대학을 비롯한 형식교육 영역이 주목하고 있는 주제이지만, 아직 비형식교육 영역에서는 이렇다 할 관심을 받지 못하고 있다. 연구자는 학습자의 자율적인 선택과 등록, 자기주도적인 학습관리 등을 전제로 하는 비형식교육 영역에서도 학습자 자기평가의 수행이 필요하며 이에 대한 적극적인 관심과 지원책 마련이 시급하다고 보았다. 이러한 배경에서 이 연구는 13인의 성인들이 실제 비형식교육 장면에서 어떻게 자기평가를 수행하고 있는지 그 과정을 추적함으로써 학습자 자기평가의 수행 양태와 관련 요소를 구명하여 비형식교육 영역에서의 학습자 자기평가의 활성화의 기초를 마련코자 하였다. 연구 결과, 성인학습자들은 자신이 설정한 나름의 동기를 실현하려는 방향에서 자신의 학습활동을 평가, 관리하고 있었으며, 여기에는 그들이 지닌 학습동기와 학습관, 평가관, 그리고 복잡한 교실 역학이 복합적으로 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
This study is to investigate how adult learners evaluate and manage their learning for themselves in non-formal education. 13 adult learners participated in cooking and English conversation class were chosen as the subjects of the investigation, and they were asked to do the self-evaluation freely through the writings. Consequently, I can light upon some facts that adult learners in non-formal education are laboring for their learning in the directions of their own motivation, and their self-evaluation is affected by it and also their view of learning and evaluation. And I can find out the dynamics in classroom also exert an influence on the self-evaluation. Through this case study, I can capture some aspects of self-evaluation in non-formal education and some related factors and I can bring out some suggestions for utilizing self-evaluation in non-formal education.
