『燕槎錄』을 통해본 鄭元容과 淸朝 文士들의 문화교류
The cultural interchange between Jeong Wonyong(鄭元容) and intellectuals in Qing Dynasty in 『Yeonsa-rok(燕槎錄)』

This paper will focus on the aspects of cultural interchange between Jeong Wonyong(鄭元容) and intellectuals in Qing Dynasty based on 『Yeonsa-rok(燕槎錄)』. 『Yeonsa-rok(燕槎錄)』 is an account of a journey to Beijing which Jeong Wonyong wrote. He classified a dairy, correspondence between Chinese and Korean Intellectuals, and Chinese poems in this book so that we can observe the aspects of cultural interchange in 19th century closely. Jeong Wonyong had a relationship with 23 intellectuals of Qing while he was in Beijing. They met and communicated by writing directly or exchanged letters. Jeong Wonyong not only appreciated inscription of a stone monument, calligraphy, and pictures also made a poetry album. Jeong Wonyong valued meetings with intellectuals of Qing and paid attention to their movement. It is suggested that he had a global consciousness because he concentrated his effort to meet them and keep a good relationship with them. In addition, many intellectuals of Qing visited Jeong Wonyong and asked for a meeting to get his poems and handwritings. This can be another important aspect of their relationship. We may, therefore, reasonably conclude that Chinese and Korean intellectuals had relationships each other equally as well as openly and through their relationship, Chinese intellectuals would widen their view toward Joseon.
