Abstract
Objective: This study aimed to examine the multiple mediating effects of primary task awareness and job satisfaction in the relationship between employee benefits and life satisfaction among wage-earning persons with disabilities. Methodology: Data were drawn from the 8th survey of the second wave of the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled (PSED), conducted by the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities. Data processing and analysis were conducted using SPSS 24.0, AMOS 20.0, and R 3.6.0+. Findings: The main findings of this study are as follows. First, while welfare benefits had a significant positive effect on job perception and job satisfaction, they did not directly influence life satisfaction. However, both job perception and job satisfaction had significant positive effects on life satisfaction. Second, the effect of welfare benefits on job perception remained stable over time. Third, both single and multiple mediation pathways involving job perception and job satisfaction in the relationship between welfare benefits and life satisfaction were statistically significant. Conclusion or Implications: These findings highlight the critical role of job perception in enhancing job satisfaction and ultimately life satisfaction. Based on this, the study suggests the importance of improving job-person fit evaluation systems and job-related training programs for individuals with disabilities. Furthermore, the results underscore the need for institutional support and individualized welfare policies that enhance positive job perception and satisfaction rather than focusing solely on direct welfare expansion.
