Abstract
Purpose: This study investigated how job stress, coping resources, and coping behaviors influence job satisfaction among personal assistants of persons with disabilities. Method: A structured self-report questionnaire was used. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, reliability and factor analyses, t-test, ANOVA, correlation, and hierarchical regression. Results: Role ambiguity (β=-0.109, p<.05) and role overload (β=-0.077, p<.05) were negatively associated with job satisfaction, underscoring the need for clear role definitions and manageable workloads. Among coping resources, self-esteem (β=0.303, p<.001) had the strongest positive effect, followed by family support (β=0.104, p<.05) and human rights sensitivity (β=0.158, p<.05), highlighting their roles in stress mitigation and job adjustment. Preference for problem-focused coping (β=0.338, p<.001) was also positively related to job satisfaction, suggesting that active problem-solving contributes to higher levels of satisfaction. Conclusion: The study provides practical approaches for managing job stress and enhancing job satisfaction among personal assistants of persons with disabilities.
