Abstract
This Study aimed to explore the effectiveness of employee representation between union and work council in the unionized workplace, and analyzed the workplace data collected by Korea Labor Institute. The criterion variable to measure the effectiveness of employee representation is exit ratio of employee. The results are as follows. First, union density didn't make significant impacts on exit ratio, but union participation on managerial decision made negative impacts on exit ratio. Second, the wage level and activation of work council made negative impacts on exit ratio. Lastly, the wage level and activation of work council mediated the relation between union participation on managerial decision and exit ratio. Based on empirical results, I discussed the theoretical backgrounds of these results, and the practical implications of mediating effects.
