캐릭터 스피크의 관점에서 본 한일 미스터리 드라마 등장인물의 언어행동 분석 - 드라마 ⌜시그널⌟을 중심으로 -

본 연구의 목적은 한일 드라마 속 캐릭터의 언어행동을 ‘캐릭터 스피크’의 관점으로 분석하여 캐릭터가 표현되는 방식의 공통점과 차이점을 밝히는 것이다. 분석 결과 한일 모두 역할어뿐만 아니라 회화참가 방법, 아이러니와 같은 레토릭 구사로 캐릭터를 다채롭게 묘사하는 공통점이 있었다. 그러나 세부 사항에서는 다음과 같은 차이점이 있었다. 일본판은 여성어, 남성어, 간사이방언 등 명확한 역할어 베이스에 부가적으로 스타일 시프트나 인접 응답쌍 위반, 아이러니를 사용해 비교적 일관적인 캐릭터를 묘사했다. 그에 반해, 한국판은 역할어가 특정되지는 않지만 다양한 ‘캐릭터 스피크’로 시간 경과와 상황에 따른 ‘캬라’의 다면성을 보다 섬세하게 나타내는 경향이 강했다. 본 연구에서는 ‘캐릭터 스피크’ 분석을 통해 전형적 역할어뿐 아니라 레토릭, 발화태도까지 살펴봐 한일 간 언어행동의 특징을 더 명확히 할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 드라마 캐릭터 분석 및 한일 간 언어행동 대조에 캐릭터 스피크라는 분석틀이 유용할 수 있다는 것이 시사되었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the linguistic behavior of characters in Korean and Japanese dramas from the perspective of ‘character speak’ to reveal the similarities and differences in the way characters are portrayed. The analysis results showed that both Korean and Japanese dramas portrayed characters in various ways, not only through role language(Yakuwari-go), but also through conversational participation and rhetorical devices such as irony. However, there were differences in the following details. The Japanese version used role language like feminine Japanese, masculine Japanese, and Kansai dialect, in addition to style shifts, adjacency pair violations, and irony to portray consistent characters. The Korean version, on the other hand, does not have a specific role language base, but tends to use various ‘character speak’ to portray more subtly the multifaceted ‘Kyara’ depends on the context. Through the analysis of ‘character speak’, this study was able to clarify the characteristics of Korean-Japanese linguistic behavior by examining not only typical role language but also rhetoric and speech attitudes. This study suggests that ‘character speak’ may be a useful analytical framework for the analysis of drama characters and the contrast between Korean and Japanese.
