운전면허 취득자 안전교육의 효과에 관한 연구

본 연구의 목적은 교통안전교육의 효과를 분석함으로써 교통안전정책 수립에 기초적인 자료를 제공하는 것이다. 본 연구를 위하여 만 명의 운전자(5천 명은 운전면허 취득 시 안전교육을 이수하지 않은 집단, 5천 명은 안전교육을 이수한 집단)의 2003년 이후 7년간 교통행태자료를 수집하였다. 교통안전교육의 효과를 분석하기 위하여 공분산분석과 로지스틱 회귀분석 방법을 이용하여 교통법규위반 감소효과를 분석하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교통안전교육은 교통법규위반 횟수를 감소시키는 효과가 있었다. 공분산분석의 결과 수정평균을 비교하면, 안전교육을 이수하지 않은 집단은 이수한 집단보다 교통법규위반 횟수가 많은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과로 나타난 승산비를 비교하면, 교통안전교육을 이수하지 않은 집단은 이수한 집단보다 교통법규를 위반할 비율이 23.8% 높은 것으로 나타났다. 안전교육의 효과는 공분산분석과 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과가 같은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 운전면허 취득자에 대한 안전교육은 확대되어야만 한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide a basic materials in traffic safety policy making by analyising the effectiveness of traffic safety education. Data of 10,000 drivers's (5,000 drivers were educated and 5,000 were uneducated when they got driver license, respectively) behavior and traffic law violation records for 7 years were collected since 2003. To analysing the effectiveness of traffic safety education, analysis of covariance and logistic regression analysis were conducted. The results are as follows. First, there is effectiveness of traffic safety education in reducing traffic law violation frequency in educated group. Comparing the adjusted means as a result of covariance analysis, average traffic law violation frequency of the educated drivers are less than those of uneducated. Second, comparing the odds ratio as a result of logistic regression analysis, the probabilities of traffic law violation in uneducated drivers are 23.8% higher than those of educated group. Both the results of covariance analysis and logistic regression analysis are same. Consequently, traffic safety educations to the drive license acquisitors should be expanded.
