韓国人日本語学習者にとって受け身文の習得は、日韓の文法的類似性によりむしろその難しさが指摘されてきた。本稿では中級日本語学習者の韓日翻訳に見られる「Voice」の様相を上級学習者との比較を通じて考察した。その結果、中級学習者の翻訳では、韓国語原文の「Voice」からの逸脱が乏しく原文の「Voice」を維持する傾向が見られた。一方、上級学習者の翻訳では、「省略転換」された文章が多く、原文の「Voice」からの逸脱が著しく中級学習者に見られた様相とは対照的だった。これは、「翻訳」において両学習者グル-プが重点をおいている部分に差があることを示唆している。中級学習者が個別語彙の表現の転換に重点を置いているのに対して、上級学習者は文レベルで該当の語彙（特に動詞）が日本語で好まれる形かどうかの判断をも含めて語彙の転換を行っている可能性があることが示唆された。ただ、本稿では学習者の翻訳例から見られる結果を考察しており、今後、分析デ-タ-を拡大し、実際の翻訳の例に加え学習者要因から受け身文の翻訳に関わる要因を考察する必要もあるだろう。
Abstract
This study examines differences between undergraduate students (29) from theDepartment of Japanese Interpretation and Translation and students (9) from GraduateSchool of Interpretation and Translation in their usage of passive sentences inKorean-Japanese translation based on characteristics of Korean and Japanese passivesentences. The examination considers primarily difficulties and issues in thetranslation of passive sentences easily overlooked due to syntactic similaritiesbetween Korean and Japanese by analyzing translations by undergraduates andgraduate students with a focus on 1) patterns of passive sentences found in Japanesetranslation and 2) translations where active sentences in original Korean texts arere-structured (omission/change) into passive or other forms. For the analysis, this study compares Japanese texts translated by undergraduateand graduate students from essays written in Korean by North Korean refugeteenagers. The comparison shows undergraduates have a tendency to match Koreanpassive sentences and Japanese intransitive verbs one-on-one while graduate studentsrelied considerably on "omission/change," by which the syntactic structure of thesource text itself is transformed. This proves that differing approaches to a sourcetext influence translation outcomes.
