초록
本論文は、日本映画小説に関するものである。映画の登場以降、文学と映 画は緊密に関わってきた。したがって、文学と映画との影響関係については少なからず研究が蓄積されてきた。しかし、映画小説に関する研究は皆無に 近い。本論文では、映画小説というジャンルが登場した背景をはじめ、映画 小説がどのように認識されてきたのか、そしてどのように定着してきたのか に注目した。映画小説の全貌を明らかにするために、まず、映画小説を発掘 し、次に、映画小説が掲載された新聞、雑誌と大衆読者との関わりを明らか にした。日本映画小説に関する実証研究は、文学と映画の比較研究領域に新 たな視点を提示し、韓国の映画小説との比較研究も可能にしてくれる。ま た、メディア·ミックスの源流を1910年代まで遡って再考することによって、 今日のメディア·ミックス研究領域に一つの可能性を提示することになるだろ う。
Abstract
There have been many studies about the relationship between literature and cinema ever since motion picture was invented. However, there has not been enough researches about film-novels because they tended to be under evaluated as one of the variations of film genre. This thesis studies Japanese film-novels. It covers when Japanese film-novels were recognized as an independent genre and how they were established and evolved. The primary goal of this thesis is building a strong foundation for further researches of Japanese film-novels by studying the chronology of them from 1910’s till 1960, looking into what kind of film-novels existed through what kind of mediums on each era. This study provides insight into the relation between literature and film-novels. The significance of this work is not only limited to fill up the area which had not been studied in the past, but finding real value of film novels by studying how they worked in the context of history and environment of each era.
