本論文は、旧注から新注『伊勢物語古意』までの『伊勢物語』の読解を明らかにしたもので、具体的な語句の注解に焦点を置きながら考察してみた。そこで、『伊勢物語』第三十二段と第六段の解釈の変遷を跡づけ、それぞれの注解がどのように繼承され、どういう観点が強調されていたのかについて、より詳しく察することができた。 連歌師たちが主流をなしている旧注の時代は、人物の心情を読んでいくことが大切な意味であり、『伊勢物語』の表現が比喩的に書かれたものとして理解し、そういう面を読み取ろうとする注釈の傾向を確認することができた。 新注の『伊勢物語』の注解は、詳細な語釈の検討を行っており、また古い言葉への関心を呼び戻し、古い時代の探求を重視する国学者の認識が『伊勢物語』注釈により明確に表われていたと言える。 以上のように、旧注から新注の『伊勢物語古意』にかけての、過渡期における『伊勢物語』の理解に対する姿勢と、言葉の解釈をめぐる注解の特徴を通して、よりさまざまな観点から『伊勢物語』を読むことができたと思われる。
Abstract
In this article, we present interpretations of the Tales of Ise based on the old annotations and Isemonogatari Koi, taking into consideration notes of specific expressions and phrases. More precisely, we trace the transitions of interpretations of the volume 32 and the volume 6 of the Tales of Ise and provide an in-depth analysis of how each explanatory note has been inherited and which aspects of the notes have been emphasized. In the era where “renga” poets were flourishing, the depiction of people’s sentiments was highly valued, and we confirmed the tendency that the explanatory notes were made to comprehend metaphorical aspects of the expressions used in the Tales of Ise. The new annotations of the Tales of Ise present precise explanations of expressions, and they also arouse interests in old expressions, indicating that the recognition of the literary scholars pursing the old times was clearly reflected in the notes of the Tales of Ise. In this way, we can provide reasonable interpretations of the Tales of Ise by considering the transitional period during which scholars attempted to understand the Tales of Ise, the period intervening the creation of the old annotations and that of the new annotations, as well as analyzing various characteristics of the notes.
