本稿は、韓国の大学教育、日本文学教育においてイメージリテラシー教育が必要であるという立場から出発する。人文学の危機を過疎化するデジタル時代の今日、学習者には、生産されたイメージへの主体的な理解と活用能力が求められているからである。 そこで、まず日本の王朝物語文学に注目した。物語と絵画、言葉とイメージの相互関連を検討し、日本文学の教育方法としてのイメージリテラシー教育の可能性を考察した。そのため、まずイメージリテラシーという用語の概念や必要性、さらに大学教育、文学教育における適用可能性を美術史の研究を参考に整理した。 その上で、物語と絵画の相互関連の歴史と成果に注目し、物語が絵画中心、読者(受容者、学習者)中心のイメージリテラシー文学であることを検証した。『源氏物語』のテキストを分析し、その結果に基づき、物語の享受方式が日本文学の教育方法として適用可能であることを提示した。 最終的に、リテラシー教育での研究成果を紹介することで、21世紀マルチリテラシーズ教材としての絵本、物語絵の活用に対する今後の研究の土台を構築したことの意味は大きい。
Abstract
The paper comes from the perspective that higher education and Japanese literature education in Korea are in need of image literacy education. This idea comes from the fact that digitally savvy learners who pose threats to Humanities studies are required to understand and utilize produced images. This paper explores the potential of image literacy in Japanese literature education by analyzing the relationship between monogatari and image from the standpoint of dynasty monogatari. Drawing from Art History literature, the paper discusses the concept of image literacy and its necessity and argues that monogatari is an image-centric and reader-centric image literacy literature by tracing how image is relevant for monogatari. Specifically, it is suggested that monogatari enjoyment can be applicable to Japanese literature education based on text analysis of monogatari. Finally, by presenting Education research findings on utilizing picture books as multi-literacy textbooks of the 21st century, this paper offers future research opportunities pertaining to monogatari picture books as educational materials.
