북한이탈아동과 일반아동의 비유적 언어 이해능력 비교

본 연구의 목적은 북한이탈아동과 남한아동과의 비유적 언어 이해능력 비교를 통해 집단 간에 유의미한 차이가 있는지를 확인 하여 북한이탈아동들을 위한 언어중재의 필요성 유무를 밝히고, 언어지도의 기초적인 자료로 활용하여 북한이탈아동들의 사회, 학업 적응을 돕는데 있다. 연구 대상은 본 연구에 앞서 예비연구로 그룹별 비교를 위해 일반아동 3~6학년 각각 20명씩 총 80명을 학년별 관용어, 속담에 대한 내용으로 실시하였다. 본 연구에서는 북한 출신 부모와 함께 부산에 거주하는 3~6학년 북한이탈아동 18명과 학년별 대조군으로 부산에 거주하는 일반아동 18명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 두 집단 간 관용어 이해능력의 비교를 한 결과 일반아동과 북한이탈아동 두 집단 간 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 북한이탈아동이 일반아동 보다 유의미하게 낮은 원점수를 보였다. 둘째, 두 집단 간 속담 이해능력의 비교를 한 결과 일반아동과 북한이탈아동 두 집단 간 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 북한이탈아동이 일반아동 보다 유의미하게 낮은 원점수를 보였다. 셋째, 일반아동 집단에서 관용어이해와 속담이해는 정적인 상관관계가 높았고, 북한이탈아동 집단에서도 정적인 상관관계가 다소 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 북한이탈아동들의 비유적 언어 이해능력이 일반아동에 비하여 낮다는 정보를 제공하여 북한이탈아동들을 위한 언어 중재가 필요하다는 점을 시사하며, 북한이탈아동을 위한 언어 중재와 학습지도 시에 기초적인 자료로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
Abstract
This study tried to process a research because North Korean children was considered as having difficulties in understanding figurative language of South Korean children owing to idiomatic expressions between North Korea and South Korea. In order to verify research matters, this study objected 18 North Korean defection children of 3rd~6th grades with their parents from North Korea together with 18 general children living in Busan. The results were as follows. First, average scores were risen at idioms, proverbs, and total scores all together as much as grades were higher as a result of carrying out one-way ANOVA to compare understanding abilities on figurative language by school years of general children group. Second, significant differences were looked between general children and North Korean defection one as carrying out t-test to compare understanding abilities on figurative language between 2 groups. Third, when doing Pearson correlation analysis to recognize relations between understanding abilities on figurative language and proverbs, positive correlation in idioms and proverbs was high with 0.884 from general children, and North Korean defection children was appeared as having a little high positive correlations with 0.658 at understanding abilities on figurative language and proverbs. This study implies necessities of language interventions for North Korean defection children by providing information such like understanding abilities on figurative language from North Korean defection children, and could be used as a basic data in doing language interventions and instructions for them. In addition, the study is able to be used for grasping understanding levels on idiomatic expressions from the disabled children and multinational one when instructing them through the research result on understanding developments of idioms and proverbs at general 3rd-6th grade elementary schoolchild.
