(Timed Up & Go Test, TUG)와의 관련성을 스피어만 계수(Spearman coefficient)로 분석하였다.

Abstract

To investigate the inter-rater reliability, test-retest reliability, and absolute reliability of the Alternate Step Test(AST), as well as to examine the correlation between AST and functional performance measures reflecting stroke-specific disabilities. The study employed a cross-sectional design and included 30 subacute stroke patients. Inter-rater reliability of AST was assessed using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient(ICC2,1), while test-retest reliability was evaluated using ICC3,1. The level of measurement error was analyzed through the Standard Error of Measurement(SEM), Minimal Detectable Change(MDC), and the Bland-Altman scatter plot method. Concurrent validity of AST was examined using the Spearman correlation coefficient with Fugl-Meyer Assessment of Lower Extremities (FMA-L/E), Berg Balance Scale(BBS), 10-Meter Walk Test(10mWT), and Timed Up and Go Test(TUG). The inter-rater reliability for AST completion time was ICC=0.897(95% CI: 0.785∼0.951), and test-retest reliability was ICC=0.885(95% CI: 0.754∼0.948), indicating high consistency. The MDC for inter-rater reliability was 3.07 seconds(<20% of the maximum AST completion time of 26 seconds), while the MDC for test-retest reliability was 3.21 seconds(<20% of the maximum AST completion time of 26 seconds), showing acceptable levels of measurement error. AST completion time exhibited significant negative correlations with FMA-L/E(r=-0.557), 10mWT(r=-0.629), and BBS(r=-0.578), and a significant positive correlation with TUG (r=0.658). These findings suggest that AST is a sensitive and valid tool for assessing dynamic balance and lower limb function in subacute stroke patients.
