10-times STST의 수렴 타당도는 5회 일어나 앉기 검사(5-times Sit to Stand Test, 5-times STST), 버그 균형 척도(Berg Balance scale, BBS), 푸글 마이어 평가 하지 기능(Fugl-Meyer Aassessment-Lower/Extremity, FMA-U·L/E), 일어나 걸어가기 검사(Timed Up & Go Test, TUG),
Abstract
This study aimed to investigate the reliability and convergent validity of the 10-times Sit to Stand Test (10-times STST) in individuals with subacute stroke. A total of 27 patients participated in this cross-sectional study. Inter-rater and test–retest reliability were assessed using ICC2,1 and ICC3,1, respectively. Measurement error was examined through the standard error of measurement (SEM), minimal detectable change (MDC), and Bland–Altman analysis. Convergent validity was determined by assessing the correlations between the 10-times STST and the 5-times Sit to Stand Test (5-times STST), Berg Balance Scale(BBS), Fugl-Meyer Assessment of Lower Extremity (FMA-LE), Timed Up and Go Test(TUG), and 10-Meter Walk Test (10mWT), using Spearman’s correlation coefficient. The 10-times STST demonstrated excellent inter-rater reliability (ICC= 0.936, 95% CI: 0.864–0.970) and good test-retest reliability (ICC= 0.849, 95% CI: 0.697–0.928). The MDC ranged from 3.51 to 5.76 seconds, indicating an acceptable level of measurement error. Significant correlations were observed between the 10-times STST and other functional assessment tools, including the 5-times STST(r= 0.912), BBS (r= –0.650), FMA-LE (r= –0.663), TUG (r= 0.608), and 10mWT (r= –0.677)(all p < 0.001). These findings support the use of the 10-times STST as a simple, sensitive, and practical assessment tool for evaluating sit-to-stand ability and functional recovery in clinical stroke rehabilitation settings.
