초록
The purpose of this study is to distinguish the conjugated forms of ‘ida’ and the postpositions which were made from the conjugated form of ‘ida’. So far, most Korean linguists have regarded ‘igo, ina, ini, ideunji, imyeo, indeul’ as auxiliary postpositions or connective postpositions. Furthermore, most Korean unabridged dictionaries including the Korean Standard Unabridged Dictionary, have regarded them equally. Some earlier studies have tried to clarify their grammatical category, and have presented some criteria about the distinction between the conjugated forms of ‘ida’ and the postpositions which were made from the conjugated form of ‘ida’, but they could not settle the problem completely. Therefore, I study the properties of ‘igo, ina, ini, ideunji, imyeo, indeul’ to verify that they are the conjugated form of ‘ida’. I examine them on three criteria; ① the semantic and functional identity with endings, ② the combinability of prefinal endings, and ③ the connection between ‘ida’ with ‘anida’. As a result, I confirm that ‘igo, ina, ini, ideunji, imyeo, indeul’ are not the postpositions but are rether the conjugated form of ‘ida’.
