The purpose of this paper is to examine the properties of the Korean reflexives ‘caki’ and the Chinese reflexive ‘ziji’ and to analyze the person constrain and ‘blocking effect’ which can be shown in the reflexive constructions in two languages through quantitative research. Although both the Korean reflexive 'caki' and the Chinese reflexive 'ziji' cannot be explained by the Binding Theory, they differ in terms of their person constraint of the antecedent and the ‘blocking effect.’ Using descriptive statistics and the independent sample t-test, we intend to unify the explanations on the differences in the Korean reflexive ‘caki’ and the Chinese reflexive ‘ziji.’
