초록
This study examines the types of Buddhist etymological loanwords and examines the process of Chineseization of Buddhist etymological loanwords. It takes the perspective of the formation process and language contact of early incomplete forms of Buddhist etymological loanwords. The analysis results of this study are as follows: 1. Buddhist loanwords can generally be divided into four categories in terms of word structure: transliteration, semi phonetic and semi free translation, free translation, and Chinese Buddhist meaning words. Among them, it is difficult to classify translated words and Buddhist Chinese without original language elements as foreign words. But they exhibit heterogeneous concepts and meanings with Chinese culture and language. Therefore, meaning can be regarded as the degree of imported Buddhist etymological vocabulary. The process of fixing the forms of early Buddhist loanwords that appeared in various forms together is essential. 3. In the process of introducing foreign cultures and languages, Chinese culture requires a relatively strict acceptance procedure. Therefore, the introduction of foreign languages must go through a Chineseization process that conforms to the psychological and linguistic laws of Chinese national culture. The process of Chineseization of Buddhist etymological loanwords includes stages such as “disyllabic lexicalization,” “paraphrasing,” “typification,” “polysemy,” “secularization,” and “morphemization.”
