아이들의 전인적 성장을 위한 무용교육의 방향

한국의 초·중등 무용교육은 정부 주도의 정책지원으로 과거와 비교하여 접 근성은 개선되었지만, 여전히 입시를 위한 주지교과에 밀려 파행적으로 이루 어지기도 한다. 이는 정신과 신체를 분리하고, 신체를 정신의 하위에 두는 위 계적이며 이원론적 관점이 반영되고 있는 것이다. 이러한 인식론에 반하여 최 근 신체와 정신의 유기적 상호작용을 중시하는 체화적 접근이 주목받고 있다. 체화 인지적 관점에서의 앎은 뇌의 독립적 작용 결과가 아니라 신체를 매개로 하여 형성되며, 신체와 정신과 외부환경의 상호작용 결과로 인식된다. 이러한 체화적 접근은 무용이 기능적·방법적으로 활용되는 것이 아니라 무용 그 자체 가 교육의 목적이 될 수 있는 가능성을 보여준다. 이에 본 연구는 한국의 무용 교육이 운영되고 있는 제도적, 정책적 토대를 살펴보고, 무용교사들이 인식한 체화학습의 가능태를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이러한 연구결과는 무용교육 현장에 서 체화적 경험을 구성하고 전인적 무용교육 실천을 위한 방향 설정 측면에서 유용한 정보를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
