본 연구는 한영숙제 박재희류 태평무 푸살 장단의 구조와 의미를 규명하고, 그 속에 내재된 상징성과 미학적 특성을 해석하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구방법은 문헌연구와공연영상 분석을 병행하였으며, 박재희 보유자와의 구술 면담을 통해 역사적 사실을검증하고 춤사위 분석의 객관성을 확보하였다. 분석 결과, 푸살 장단에서는 손사위 8 종과 발디딤새 5종, 동작군 2종이 확인되었으며, 손과 팔의 움직임은 호흡을 통한 에너지의 흐름을 손끝까지 전달하여 생명력을 발휘한다. 신체의 상향적 움직임과 호흡의 상승은 하늘에 대한 경의와 기원의 몸짓으로 해석되며, 돋음새는 현실로부터의 해방과 초월을 상징한다. 이러한 상향성은 태평무의 주제의식인 태평성대의 염원을 형상화하는 핵심적 신체 어법으로 작용한다. 본 연구는 푸살 장단의 의미를 구체화함으로써 한영숙제 박재희류 태평무의 미학적 정체성과 계보적 정통성을 학술적으로 확립하고, 춤사위 용어사용의 일관성을 확보하기 위한 기초 자료를 제공한다는 점에서의의를 지닌다.
Abstract
This study aims to elucidate the structure and meaning of the Pusal rhythm in the Park Jae-hee style Taepyeongmu of Han Young-suk, and to interpret its inherent symbolism and aesthetic characteristics. The research employed both literature review and performance video analysis, while historical accuracy and objectivity in dance analysis were ensured through oral interviews with holder Park Jae-hee. The analysis identified eight types of hand movements, five types of foot steps, and two groups of motion patterns. The movements of the hands and arms convey the flow of energy through breath, extending vitality to the fingertips. The upward motion of the body and ascending breath are interpreted as gestures of reverence and prayer toward the heavens, while the dodeumsae symbolizes liberation and transcendence from reality. Such upward dynamics function as a core physical expression embodying the Taepyeongmu’s theme— the aspiration for an era of peace and prosperity. This study is meaningful in that it clarifies the meaning of the Pusal rhythmic pattern, thereby providing a scholarly basis for understanding the aesthetic identity and genealogical le gitimacy of the Han Young-suk Je Park Jae-hee lineage Taepyeongmu, and of fering foundational reference materials that support consistent usage of dance movement terminology.
